About me
I’m Jake Sugarman, a fitness trainer and accredited physiotherapist, passionate about helping people reach their physique goals while navigating their battles against pain and injury.
When I was four, I was diagnosed with Perthes’ disease - a condition which results in a disruption of blood flow to the femur, causing the bone cells to die. Hip pain and poor mobility has been a problem for me since, and I had to modify my basketball and strength training as a result.
Since then, I have had to navigate training through two degenerative collarbones, herniated discs in my lower back, a myriad of ankle and foot injuries including sprains, tendinopathies, and the list goes on.
Ultimately, my journey has instilled within me a sense of discipline, resilience, and self-efficacy, three essential pillars that underpin my training philosophy.
